Letter from Brussels: ‘Homosexuality is worse than murder’
A remarkable and somewhat painful incident on March 10 in Tongeren’s criminal court. The twenty-three-year-old Abdullah Essah stood trial for the murder of the fifty-year-old gay man Erik Janssen. Janssen supposedly had paid Abdullah for sex, but when Janssen said he would make Abdullah’s homosexuality public, he apparently went nuts.read more
Gay Marriage Now Possible in Finland
As of last March same-sex couples can get married in Finland. This means that marriage is now opened up for same-sex couples throughout Scandinavia. A bill to make marriage for same-sex couples possible was already adopted in November 2014 by the Finnish Parliament and signed by the President of Finland in February 2015.read more

If my best friend, who is also extremely gay - here we go again - says something about my dyke blouse, we all get the joke. I define the blouse as a “just went wood chopping in the forest” blouse. North Miami Honors Queer Pioneers With New Art Installation
The City of North Miami unveiled a new sculpture installation on Saturday, March 4th, that was commissioned to “Celebrate the legacy of Miami-Dade County’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer champions and the historic milestones of their community,” said Scott Galvin, the North Miami Councilman who spearheaded this project.read more
Amsterdam Names Bridge After Bet van Beeren, the Queen of the Zeedijk
On Friday, February 24, bridge 210 was officially named after Bet van Beeren during a ceremony in Amsterdam. The bridge crosses the Oudezijds Achterburgwal between the Korte Stormsteeg and the Korte Niezel, around the corner from bar ’t Mandje on the Zeedijk. The festive inauguration took place on February 24, as that day ’t Mandje celebrated its ninetieth anniversary.

Over the last decade XXXLeather has become a household name in the Amsterdam leather and rubber fetish scene, and in 2013 XXXLeather introduced the Mister XXXLeather election. The first Misters XXXLeather were Charlie J. Rahinman, Arnaud Housenard, and Nick Dawson, who all three have put XXXL on the map, both nationally and internationally. More and more (young) leather and rubber men from abroad now know how to find their way to XXXL, so Mister XXXLeather 2017 was a vacancy that needed to be filled.read more
