Amsterdam will be celebrating King’s Day and Night again on April 26-27. Also, on the Zeedijk it will be one big party again, led by Amsterdam’s most cosy bingo queen Coby van Dam from café The Queen’s Head. This year, Coby has invited a colorful group of friends and girlfriends to sing and perform. Let’s quickly introduce them.

Coby van DamCoby van Dam

This Zeedijk diva with her razor-sharp humour and her divine singing voice has become a household name in the Amsterdam gay scene. This blond Amsterdam diva is known for her weekly bingo in The Queen’s Head, but also as the Zeedijk hostess of King’s Day and the Canal Pride.

Nothing is too crazy for Coby, and last summer, people could enjoy her bingo and singing on the Amsterdam Pride Main Stage, at the Milkshake festival, Senior Pride, and during the Museum Night at the Rijksmuseum. Despite all of her success, she kept both of her feet firmly on the ground, remaining approachable for just about anyone.

Vanessa van Cartier

Vanessa van CartierThis Belgian drag queen is well known in the Netherlands and abroad. Her flawless lip-sync performances and sophisticated appearance could be admired in California, Ibiza, Mykonos and Paris. She has won several talent shows and awards in Belgium, including Miss Travesty Belgium and Miss of the Misses.

The day after King’s Day, she will participate in the grand Belgian competition the Show Queen Awards, so vote for her if you get the chance!

Victoria False

Again this year, this “Queen of the Dike” will showcase her beautiful voice on the Zeedijk. For years, Victoria has been committed to people who can use some help. For instance, she was the figurehead for Multipink, the interest organization of all gays and lesbians in Amsterdam-South. Victoria has her own dinner show in Amsterdam and likes to give a party during Gay Pride in Amsterdam nursing homes, and, above all, to draw attention to and celebrate pink seniors.

This year, she was also elected ambassador of the Canal Pride Amsterdam, and especially wants to bridge the gap between young and old GLBT people, so that different generations can learn from each other and understand each other better! Despite all the hustle and bustle, she still found time to celebrate King’s Day with us!

Bo Monde

This versatile DJ has spinned records in, among others, club RoXy, Club Church, Funhouse, as well as our very own café The Queen’s Head. Bo has also DJ’ed at major events at home and abroad such as the Canal Pride Amsterdam, True Colors, Wasteland, Life Ball Vienna and Superball.

She was also elected Miss Gay Holland 2017. On this King’s Day on the street, Bo will turn the Zeedijk upside down with her delicious mix of classics, house and dance hits, and can later be heard inside of The Queen’s Head.

Jacké Janey

Jacké JaneyThis fierce queen we know from the Nyx, Taboo and The Queen’s Head, but recently could also be admired as the leading lady of the spectacular dinner show in Restaurant Burlesque. Also, she has hosted several major events, such as the Super Ball and Mainstage Amsterdam Pride, and she had won the first edition of Super Ball in the category Miss Fish and Leading Drag House.

This summer, this diva will go international in Mykonos, but before she starts that big adventure, you will be able to see her shine during King’s Night on the Zeedijk!

Belle DommageBelle Dommage

Belle Dommage, known from Club Church and the Superball events, can also be admired as a member of the Vipers Squat on the kinkier evenings in the Taboo Canteen and on Wasteland. This versatile Queen differs in style between fish and fetish, and we are curious what she will show us on King’s Night!

Victoria Nicol

Victoria studied jazz at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and has been singing in the scene for years. She also participated in a well-known Dutch talent show, which made her a celebrity in the Netherlands. For many years, she has worked at the Vivelavie bar (now closed) and sang at many a stage during major events, such as Canal Pride and the “Hartjesdagen” on the Zeedijk. Her style varies from soul classics to rock and dance, and with her power voice she will entrance the entire street!

Jakko BJakko B

Jakko B can be found almost everywhere as a resident DJ of Exit, Nyx, Church and The Queen’s Head, but this year, he is also breaking through as a DJ at larger events. Last summer, for instance, he spinned at Amsterdam Pride Rembrandplein and Milkshake, and this year will DJ at H.I.M. and Backdoor.

With his enthusiasm, he will get the Zeedijk to dance to his mix of house, pop and classics.

King’s Night and King’s Day at Zeedijk, organized by The Queen’s Head:
Friday, April 26 from 19hr
Saturday, April 27 from 14hr
