Cosyness and Fun During Cobys Cut Karaoke in the Queens Head

Just at the very end of 2016 the second edition of “Coby’s Cut Karaoke” took place. According to hostess Coby van Dam, it was a great opportunity for a sing-along goodbye to 2016. The starting point of the show obviously was a lot of “cosyness,” but when possible, most singers just tried to give a good performance.

Coby thought most candidates were “very professional,” but if she didn’t think so she yelled “cut” and the music stopped. That way, visitors never have to listen to a “cut performance” too long.

Coby is firm but fair, and calmly explained that the performance by a girl from the United Kingdom was perhaps cut short because of her song choice, as her “very nice voice” was not the problem.

The fact that the evening was very busy proves that there still is enthusiasm in the scene for a cosy karaoke night. Coby has prizes for best male and female singer, from a power bank in lipstick shape to cosy tiger print pyjamas. And each candidate of course got a traditional doughnut ball! Things stayed “cosy” on the Zeedijk for a long time, and the guests cannot wait for the next edition. Coby: “I’m looking forward to it.”

Below a photo impression, but of course you should just pass by and join the sing-a-long contest,
Coby's Cut Karaoke is every last Friday.
