Corine van Dun (in the picture on the right): “I have always been committed to combatting discrimination of transgender people, for example as President of TNN. I entered the transitional phase 28 years ago and underwent sex reassignment surgery 26 years ago. Some people think I am 26, but the body is from 1953. I am 63. I am proud of my position on the list and will represent the interests of transgender and intersex people. The subject needs our constant attention!”
Corine van Dun is a journalist and lives in Utrecht, where she chairs the work group Care and welfare on behalf of D66. She is also a member of the permanent program committee. In 2014, she was also on the D66 list for the municipality elections. She lives with a woman and has two children.
The D66 candidate's list has several other LGBTI or LGBTI friendly candidates, such as Pia Dijkstra and former COC chairwoman Vera Bergkamp. These current MPs are respectively number 4 and 7 on the list. Number 12 is Rob Jetten, a former volunteer of LGBT youth organisation Dito! in Nijmegen, now town councillor in Nijmegen, and number 33 is TNN advisor Bastiaan Winkel.
