Recently, the actor Everon Jackson (known as Bing from the Dutch soap “Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden” [Good Times, Bad Times]) set up a brand new underwear range under the name BOLAS. In Spanish this means “balls” (referring to sports). It is meant for men with balls - a tough brand that aims at unique design, optimal comfort, and affordable quality.

An interesting detail is the logo print on the inside of the shorts and briefs. As they say at BOLAS: “It’s the inside that matters.” It shouldn’t come as a complete surprise that the shorts are packaged in plastic balls.

For Everon, this underwear line is a dream come true. “Five years ago, I was looking for a boxer short and found nothing that suited me. And if I finally found one, it was too expensive. I often thought that their value for money was not very good, and I wanted to do something about that. For me, this truly is a dream come true, and last year, I worked hard on it.”

Linking a famous name to an underwear label is not entirely new. Well-known predecessors are David Beckham, and Dutch folk singer Jan Smit.

“Of course I hope that BOLAS will be a success. What especially makes me nervous are the reactions, what people think of it. We already had a stand at several underwear fairs, and there, the brand was received well. It is my dream that BOLAS will become a global brand. Design-wise, I don’t like seeing the logo too often, and I chose to put the logo on the underwear only once. The designs are chic yet sporty. That is what I wanted to achieve.” And if he had to choose someone he would like to see in one of his shorts or briefs, it would be Dutch actor Michiel Huisman. “Our brand is for men with balls. BOLAS radiates: BAM! Here we are...”
