With her upcoming twenty-fifth artists anniversary in October, Dolly Bellefleur has organized a festive foretaste on July 27 in the Theater van ’t Woord.
Especially for the Amsterdam Gay Pride 2014, Dolly has put together a varied program with songs, poetry and cabaret. In “La Cage au Dol,” militant gay songs, naughty folk songs and songs in which text is the most important element can be heard in quick succession. Bellefleur will treat the audience to cabaret classics, such as “Sorry dat ik besta” (lyrics Annie M.G. Schmidt, music Harry Bannink), but also to songs she wrote herself, such as “Roze Planeet.”
However, she is famous for her hilarious improvisations, so one is never sure what really to expect from La Bellefleur. So let it come as a total surprise! The program is mixed with Pink Poetry, read and compiled by poet and performance artist George Moormann.
The production is in cooperation with the Amsterdam Public Library (OBA) and the Collective Promotion for the Dutch Book (CPNB). (Photo Erwin Olaf.)
