In honor of the upcoming Folsom Street Fair, Folsom Street Events is picking up a tattoo theme for its latest installment for the Folsom Street Fair poster image. The sexy image was unveiled at the end of May in a viral marketing campaign, featuring five members of California’s leather community in an erotic interpretation of a tattoo shop.
InkedKenny flew in from Toronto to execute the immaculate photography with art direction by Atom Edwards. Also, there will be a very special inkedKenny photograph created for Venus’ Playground, the women’s space at Folsom Street Fair.
According to Demetri Moshoyannis, Executive Director, “This year’s Folsom Street Fair poster plays on the classic tattoo parlor and the fetish of tattooing and body modification that is so popular and ingrained in our community. The poster image for Magnitude continues the theme with a muscled bare back getting tattooed with the Magnitude logo - complete with a thick line of blood dripping down. As usual, the extremely talented illustrator Rob Clarke has executed a fun Up Your Alley poster with yet another hot image by inkedKenny for Bay of Pigs.”
Patrick Finger, Development and Projects Manager who conceptualized the images, added, “Our image is a nod to the fetish aspects of tattoos and tattooing. Tattooing can be painful, and yet you’re willfully submitting and enduring the pain for something beautiful.” Finger added, “We were lucky to have inkedKenny contact us to express his interest in being this year’s photographer, so we knew we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take our advertising to a whole new level.”
The mission of Folsom Street Events, a non-profit agency, is to create world-class leather and fetish events that unite the adult alternative lifestyle communities with safe venues for self-expression. FSE raises critical funds for San Francisco-based and national charities. FSE values sexual freedom, diversity, and volunteerism. In 2013, FSE marked the thirtieth Folsom Street Fair with 400,000 attendees and nearly $360,000 donated to charity.
