Recently Mark J. de Vries of the Gay Garden Club opened the exhibition “Garden Gods in Paradise” at Gallery MooiMan in Groningen. This show was part of the Garden & Art ten-day festival in the north of Holland Gallery MooiMan took part in for the first time. “Garden Gods in Paradise” will be in the gallery until the end of August, as well as in the sculpture garden.
The international group exhibition “Garden Gods in Paradise” presents a choice of artists and techniques, all focusing on the male figure in a landscape.
Like the painted man in Mediterranean surroundings by Frans van Oirschot and Nebojsa Zdravkovic (Serbia), the ivy covered men of Richard Wallace (Great Britain), ceramic Garden Gods by Keith King (Great Britain), fantastic and colorful butterflies by Cedric Laquièze, life-size watercolors by Rinaldo Hopf (Germany), the Secret Garden of Hannes Steinert (Germany), a fountain by Marcel Joosen (France) and Chinese cherry blossom by Musk Ming (Germany).
The experimental embroideries of James Hunting (Brighton, GB) will be on display in Europe for the very first time. He works for the best European couturiers but he’s showing his own free work: creations with varying textures, in which the embroidered man is combined with floral shapes.
This exhibition also marks the fact that from now on the gallery will be completely energy self-sufficient.
