Hiv-‘healings’ continue

The Amsterdam alderman Freek Ossel cannot understand why minister Ab Klink (Public Health) keeps refusing to intervene with the religious groups that claim to ‘heal’ hiv-infections as well as homosexuality altogether. “Public Health is put in danger by these healings,” Ossel says referring to an article in Het Parool. This article is about a visit to a migrant church in Diemen during which the reporter was cured from his faked hiv-infection.

A self-declared ‘profet’ told him he could stop his medications completely. Ossel is angry that Klink is taking months to reply to a request from the capital to look into the practises of these mainly Antilian and Surinam churches.

“We know these things are happening but we have no idea about the scale of things. I think it’s outragious Klink hasn’t started an inspection. I’m afraid this Christian minister would’ve moved a lot faster had the matter been open tb.” The Inspection for Public Health claims they don’t have a legal jurisdiction to stop the healing.
